Vehicle description
For sale is my 1998 GMC Sierra 1500 that I just brought up north from Arizona three weeks ago. It has a Vortec 4.3L V6 with a 5 speed manual transmission. Currently has 109,546 miles, although it is still driven occasionally, so it will go up slightly. All original paint with no apparent body work ever done. There are very very minor scratches in the paint from a normal 23 years of use. This truck was clearly garaged it"s entire life, thus protecting it from the severe Arizona sun. The only body damage is in the box behind the rear bumper (see photo), where it appears that a previous owner may have backed up into something at some point. The rear bumper was replaced with a brand new bumper, however. All glass is perfect. I installed a custom made, very nice fitting seat cover this spring. Looks great!
Mechanically it"s in great shape. No check engine light on, however there is a very occasional rattle in the exhaust at low speeds, which I believe to be coming from a converter heat shield or catalyst. It does not affect the excellent 22MPG@ 75mph fuel mileage or drivability. Before I drove it to Michigan, I replaced the AC Compressor, Accumulator and Orifice Tube, flushed the cooling system of the troublesome GM spec Dexcool and installed standard green ethylene glycol coolant and thermostat, installed new plugs and filters, and replaced the serpentine belt and tensioner. AC blows ice cold.
It has a set of 235/75/15 Firestone Destination LE2 tires that are practically brand new. Battery is recent too. Truck drives nice and straight with no weird noises, rattles or vibrations other than the aforementioned occasional exhaust rattle. The truck has tilt and perfectly working cruise control also. It comes with a nice, cab high paint-matched fiberglass cap that kinda makes it look like a Blazer. The clearcoat is failing on the cap, but it is in otherwise fantastic shape. Despite the fact that the 4.3 V6 runs super with no oil consumption, this little short box would be an excellent recipient of your LS to turn it into a fun sport truck!
Looking to get $9,200 or best REASONABLE offer. Thanks.
Payments of electronic fund transfer or cash on pickup will be the only forms accepted.
