1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Van with Aero Vans high-top conversion package.
Original owner, purchased new in December 1998.
Never had any body work done.
Beautiful interior amenities, just needs some cosmetic TLC and some maintenance work.
Has electric folding couch sofa in back, 2 captains chairs in the middle, and 2 captain"s chairs up front.
Class III (5000 lbs) towing package with hitch. Pulled my boat and a big enclosed utility trailer effortlessly.
Center two captain"s chairs are removable in seconds by simply pulling a lever. So, you can use it to haul cargo and instantly switch back and forth between cargo and travel configuration.
I have put nothing but Mobil 1 Full Synthetic oil in it since the end of the initial break-in period.
13" Television, VCR, and separate front/rear stereo systems.
Front system is a Sony in-dash minidisc FM/AM plus 10 disc CD changer.
Rear system is an Audiovox am/fm/cassette.
Speakers and headphone jacks throughout.
Infinity Kappa 3-way 6x9 rear speakers with Injection Molded Quartz woofers and EMIT ribbon tweeters.
Rear LG window AC unit powered by 2000-Watt installed inverter.
Transmission rebuilt by Transmasters in Sebastian, FL in late 2012.
Original owner, though for a few years back in the 2000"s it was titled in my ex"s name as she worked for an insurance company and got a big discount that way. It was titled in my name before and after that as I am the original purchaser of the van when it was new.
Not sure what the Carfax will show, but in the spirit of full disclosure, the van has been involved in 2 minor accidents. The first one I was rear-ended while stopped at a red light and pulling a trailer. The trailer bore the damage- the van was completely unharmed with the exception of a small area of interior carpet damage due to a spill when I was hit. Second one was a tiny dent in one of the mid-side doors when I was bumped in a parking lot. This damage was never repaired and is simply a minor dent in the right left side door (see pictures).
Never any body work, and no other accident damage.
Check engine light is on , but seems to run just fine as far as I can tell. ABS/Brake lights are on, though the brakes seem to work fine. Perhaps the ABS is out.
Front captains chairs have come unraveled at the seams where you sit. This appears to be just the seams needing re-sew. It appears to me that if you simply re-stitched the seam from behind it would be just like new.
No tears or unraveling of the 2 middle captains chairs nor the rear sofa.
a few interior trim pieces need to be screwed down, and there is a small area of damage maybe 7 or 8 inches in diameter in the front center floor carpet which is easily hidden by an included floor mat.
Some of the varnished mahogany woodwork in the vicinity of the windows has been sun bleached and could use a re-stain and re-varnish. Some of the interior / mood lights need bulbs replaced.
Vehicle A/C Compressor has seized compressor clutch and therefore vehicle A/C doesn"t work (Rear window AC does work). As a temporary measure, the serpentine belt has been replaced with a shorter one that bypasses the A/C compressor.
Van has front and rear A/C systems (not including the window unit) so you"ll have dual engine-driven A/C once the compressor is fixed.
Front door windows don"t go down.
Clear coat is peeling off the exterior.
Tires were replaced recently and have very little mileage on them since new.
Van is sold AS-IS, NO RESERVE in running condition but in need of cosmetic TLC and maintenance to remedy the check engine and brake lights. Available for inspection by appointment in Orlando, Florida 32837.
