Selling our weekend cruiser, a 1998 e36 BMW Cabriolet in stunning Techno-Violet. These M3"s are on every future collector/investment list and are considered one of the last "analog" driving experiences before the computer aided technology started to take over. We used the BMW this summer for drives from Kansas City to our place down at Lake of the Ozarks and it really is a terrific cruiser. I previously owned a German Automotive Shop in the Kansas City Area called Rennen Autohaus and specifically searched for a clean, stock M3 when I purchased this one. It has new tires on e46 wheels and a fairly new convertible top; The previous owner replaced it so I"m unsure of the exact age. The car is an automatic transmission with a new Bluetooth/Phone enabled stereo and it sounds amazing. The top-spec"ed M3"s had the Harmon-Kardon system fitted from the factory with a subwoofer installed between the back seats and this has been updated as well - You won"t believe how good the stereo sounds for a convertible. It has 186k miles but has been maintained meticulously and you"d never know the mileage by the way it drives. . tight as a drum. Heat and A/C both work, no check-engine light, etc. Please understand this is a 20 year old car now and not without some faults. I"ll try to be as detailed as possible but if you want to know anything specific feel free to shoot me a message. There is a small ding & scratch on the front right fender I have pictured, there is one seam starting to come apart very slightly on the driver"s seat near the shoulder you can see in the pictures, there"s a trim piece missing on the convertible top right above where the rear-view mirror is when it"s up but I never notice it, the clear-coat is starting to flake only on the top-facing part of the front bumper, and there are a couple "slats" in the vents that aren"t snapped into place. One seat-belt sensor needs to be replaced which is a $30 part. It drips a couple oil spots when parked like most German cars but never enough that I"ve worried about it between oil changes. This is a solid M3 and a chance to get into a clean, stock driver that you can feel confident about or customize to your liking. Clean, Techno-Violet cars are getting harder and harder to find; and with the first generation M3"s fetching 6 figures this is the time to snatch up the e36 body before they take off as well.
