This model & body style (B4) came with a 5-speed manual transmission and the legendary VR6 2.8, 172 HP engine, the best motor ever produced by VW. This drivetrain has proven to be one of the most efficient and reliable VW has ever made, with its’ impressive in-line VR6. All 1996-97 Passat VR6 were built in Germany. A real Euro Spec German (see picture), as most of the newer VWs are built in South America and Mexico. This beauty was originally purchased in 1996 in New Jersey by an elderly lady. After a couple years she moved to CA, where the vehicle was transferred to her children. The previous owner was an elderly gentleman who loved his cars and always maintained them with the best care. He purchased it from her children and moved it to AZ, where it was driven mostly on the Interstate. The car is now in Lake Havasu City, AZ, enjoying the sunny skies and smooth roads. The Carfax Report will show an odometer warning, but if you read the service entries listed, you’ll see that it happened many years back in CA because of a typographical error. Clean and clear title.
