I am a mechanic by trade and found this truck from one of my customers. It was her dads truck he bought new. She said he really did not need it as he only went to the store and occasional errand. He past in 2004 and the truck has sat in her back yard ever since.
Once I had it back to my shop, I cleaned the gas tank and fuel lines. Flushed the brake lines. Changed the oil and antifreeze. Check the plugs and hoses and replaced all the filters.
Fired it up with new gas and BG fuel injector cleaner. It still had the original tires and I replaced them all around with new tires. I have well over a 100 miles driving it around town-on and off the highway. No problems at all. This is a perfect running survivor. I have sold multiple trucks and cars on with a 100% rating. I try my best to describe the vehicle- faults and all. Easier to list the faults as this truck is near new. New Mexico is a Sun soaked desert which means NO RUST! But the Sun does bake the autos locally. I had the paint buffed and in the process some damage to the original graphics can be seen in the pics. Not major but again not perfect. There is one small dinger if you look real hard on drivers side about 2" up from the tail light. The Sun got to the belt buckles and faded them somewhat. The Sun also got to the display on the radio and works but hard to see the station. Finally, there is a crack on the dash. In the desert Southwest, we install dash mats to prevent this from happening and I have installed one for the future. I have driven and delivered a few I sold for expenses and I am willing to deliver this truck as well for an additional fee. Rule of thumb is 70-80 cents a mile. This is a no reserve auction.
