This 1997 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series is almost in showroom condition. There is quite the story with this car. In 1999, my mother used to own this Lincoln. As carfax will prove she purchased it with 17,199 from Lazare Lincoln in the late 90"s and sold it in 2002 with approximately 42k. This past fall (2017) I was finally able to track the car down through DMV records and buy it back. It was in a rather weathered state. It wasn"t terrible, but not pristine like 1997. I was determined to bring the car back to the way I remembered it. I have spent over $8,000 bringing the car back to life in addition to what I paid. This is a hobby to me. It now drives and runs perfectly. I have tons of pictures of all the work done. I am going to list everything that has been done to the car. The technician is a former Lazare tech ( Monty) who worked on the car for almost 3 months. We did our best to only use Ford and Motorcraft parts. I even ordered brand new factory like OEM leather which has not be installed yet. This is a rare Town Car. It has the opal tri coat paint, ride control package, and 16" chrome wheels. Try and find another 97 Signature series like this. If you drive it, you will see its perfect. Here is everything that has been done to the car.
All new stainless steel brake lines $850 ( Vehicle had to be raised ) Including labor All new motorcraft brake pads and rotors. $650 New calibers ( not motorcraft ) $320) New exhaust system ($599) New window regulators in three windows ($275) Two new front head lights. The OEM ones were faded ($200) 8 New motorcraft spark plugs ($50) New heater core ($50 New power steering pump (125) New upper and lower control arms ($150) New steering shaft ($175) New sway bar links ($ 75) New pitman airm ($50) New steering gear box ($450) New factory OEM Lincoln Steering wheel for Signature series ($175) New belnd door actuator. The entire dashboard was out of car. heat and ac work perfect ($750) New Climate control module because the original had lights out ($150) Air suspension is original with no visible leaks, but new struts installed with motorcraft shocks ($199) Coolant flush, transmission flush, oil change, and all filters replaced ($275) Rear Light bar installed that illuminates. This was taken out of 96 and installed ($150) New interior lighting rewired due to short. All interior lights work ($500) New Motorcraft battery ($175) New Fly wheel tensioner and pulley ( $150) New Mass Air Flow sensor ( $350 ) New 4.6 Litre engine cover ($30) New serpentine belt ( $75.00 ) Alignment ($129.00) New electronic trunk motor ( $75.00) New front bulbs ( $75.00 The right side of the car and trunk was painted due to some dents that I have removed. It looks mint now. Purchased 3 new factory OEM chrome wheels. The ones on the car were in poor shape. I still have them if you want them.
My hope is that this car will go to someone who will drive it occasionally and keep it stored in a heated garage. I don"t have to sell it. If I find someone who will take care of it, I will gladly let her go. It"s the car that took me to my high school prom and I never forgot who brought me to the dance.
