Vehicle description
1997 Jaguar XK8 Convertible 1997 Jaguar XK8 Convertible - $5900 or Best Offer
Very clean. Nice paint - Red. Body very straight and clean. Runs great. 111,000 miles.
Located in SE Gilbert.
I bought this car almost 3 years ago.
* I put new tires on it and new shocks in back.
* I installed the front seat covers that came with it.
* I put a new battery in it last year.
It has been pretty trouble free, with a few exceptions. The right turn signal was iffy.
I fixed it.
The power antenna was bent, so I pushed it into the fender and
installed a hidden antenna. FM works OK, but it doesn"t work on AM.
I think a regular antenna would work better. But I only listen to Satellite radio,
so not a problem for me. It"s an add-on - not included.
Transmission didn"t shift right. I had it fixed.
The guy I bought it from had a list of stuff he said was repaired before I got it.
It is pretty extensive. I kept a copy of the previous eBay listing for it.
A partial list is below:

"First Generation Jaguar XK8, 1997 - 2007 needed upgrades / fixes.
The car I am selling has it done! "
1st, they came with a plastic water pump impeller - replaced
2nd The original timing chain tensioners are plastic - replaced with the new
Jaguar metal upgrade before any damage.
3rd The original control arm / ball joints have no camber adjustment and
the bushings are defective. - replaced.
4th The original high-pressure power steering hose is mounted too close
to the exhaust manifold and will fail - fixed.
5th The original Hydraulic oil is defective. - replaced.
6th There is an error code called "Trans Code" in the monitor.
The ZF Transmission needs fluid to be changed at 60,000 miles. - done.
7th Minor stuff. -
* OEM auto dim rear view mirror is oil filled and will leak.
Replaced with newer gell-filled unit.
* New Harmon-Kardon speakers.
* Outside mirror switch goes bad - mine was replaced.
* Air induction leaks - fixed.
Other upgrades,
* OEM Jaguar XKR wheels,
* New Front struts,
* Upgraded brakes with drilled and slotted ceramic pads. "

I cannot verify some of these claims by the seller, but I have none of those problems.
I do have the receipts for all the stuff I did and some that the seller sent me.
The small radio and Heater-A/C LCD displays are very faded and
can only be seen when it is dark.
Some of the interior plastic trim pieces are pretty brittle and break.
A/C was serviced 02-22-17. Blows cold!
Top has no tears. The hydraulic pump works well, but there is “seeping” in the cylinders.
I had the hydraulic system recharged on 02-28-17. It works well now.
Nice car.
A really nice driver.
And this model Jaguar is the most beautiful car ever produced! IMHO
