relocating out of state & need to liquidate life. up for grabs:
1997 GMC Awd Safari
Green
Approximately 201k miles Starts & runs STRONG, drives straight, feels tight. Body in great shape with no missing or major damaged parts, glass is all great, some sticker glue all over the rear doors & windows, scratches in places but a solid 7/10 so far as clean exterior. Interior pretty rough, missing rear most bench seat, middle seat is there but color not matching original interior. Cracked windshield.
STRONG runner, NOT a prom queen!
This vehicle fires right up in -15 degree temps, drives & shifts smooth however it currently NEEDS to have the transmission shift solenoids replaced. I"ve owned a dozen of these vans & have had this issue in at least 5 of my previous vans. Its just not shifting above 2nd gear. 1st & 2nd shift SUPER smooth as does reverse. Its about a $350 repair for shop to do, or a $50 kit purchased online & about an hour for any decent backyard mechanic. Its simply pulling the transmission oil pan, unplugging 2 solenoids, replacing the gasket seal & cover & refilling with transmission fluid. I just don"t have an indoor space to do it or I would
Vehicle CAN be driven up to about 45 mph currently without running the RPM"s too high.
Again, this is a very presentable on the outside, pretty beat up on the inside STRONG running all wheel drive rig. Has keyless entry but not working, a few other small quirky things like rear wiper arm not working, heat blows on all but the face setting, unsure about A/c.
Clean title in hand ready to sign over.
