This 1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 convertible 30th Anniversary is one of approximately 50 parade cars shipped from GM to Indianapolis to be used to promote the Brickyard 400 and by race VIP’s and celebrities during the August 1996 Brickyard 400. After it’s is at the race it was sold by Dan Young Chevrolet in Indianapolis. It was purchased by the previous owner in 2014 with 66k miles. At that time the, over $13k was spent to bring this rare 30 th Anniversary Z/28 Convertible Pace Car to the condition it is in today. The refresh included new paint, a fresh soft top, seat covers, minor mechanical repairs, and more. This low VIN number, 00052, car now shows 67,794 miles on the odometer and is being offered at no reserve with refurbishment records, ownership documentation from new, an accident-free Carfax report, its owner’s and service manuals, an extra OEM sticker set, and a clean Texas title. During the refurbishment process paintless dent repair was performed and any needed body repairs were completed before the full repaint was carried out. The car is very clean with no discernible wear - it has been driven just over 1k miles since the refresh. Last fall, I drove it to the Auburn Fall Classic Car Event in Auburn, Indiana. It performed flawlessly and was a joy to drive with the top down! The factory color-matched alloy wheels are in excellent condition and there is plenty of tread on the tires. All features are in good working order aside from the A/C, which blows cool but could use a recharge. The replaced 30th anniversary leather and houndstooth seat covers look fabulous along with clean factory carpeting and trim throughout. In addition to being 1 of 50 Brickyard 400 Pace Car Parade Cars, this car is also one of only 684 30th Anniversary convertibles produced with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Although I have described this car honestly, it is over 20 years old and is sold as-is with no warranty. A non-refundable $299 deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction.
