Vehicle description
The 93-96 Ford pickups seem to be a sought after body style to many people and I get quite a few complements on this one. This 96 is a very clean rust and rot free truck top to bottom. The frame and floors do not have any heavy rust or scaling like rust belt trucks have. See photos of the bottoms of the floors. It has lived in Florida until 5 years ago when I purchased it.
It runs and drives fine. The 5.0 engine just received new plugs, wires and distributor cap, and runs flawlessly. The overdrive transmission was completely rebuilt, with new torque converter 15K miles ago. The truck still has the original paint. It does have a small ding in the left front lip area of the hood, and a very light insignificant crease in the silver portion of the right rear portion of the bed side. Neither of these blemishes has done any damage to the paint. It also has a small spot on the right side of the top above the rain gutter where the clear coat has peeled off, and of course being a pickup, it has some very minor scratches on the tops of the bed sides. The tail gate is very nice. The original Pacific Green & Silver Frost paint is exceptional and retains a very nice shine especially for being 22 years old.
The chrome front bumper and grill are also exceptional and still retain a very nice pit free brilliant shine. The windshield and other glass are very nice.
The interior is in overall very nice condition. The driver seat has a small spot in the seat center bottom that appears to have had something maybe acidic spill on it, and not from wear. The seat looks the same as when I purchased it five years ago. The driver sun visor covering is starting to deteriorate. The headliner is in good shape.
This truck is equipped with most options; including power windows and door locks, tilt wheel, cruise control, power mirrors, cassette player, trailer tow package, captain chairs with lumbar support, center console, and bed liner. All options work including AC. It also has dual fuel tanks, and a new fuel pump was just installed in the front tank last week.
It is going to need tires and I have priced it accordingly. It also has the check engine light on which codes out to be in the EGR circuitry, and has no effect how the engine runs. The engine is noiseless and smooth as silk both when idling and at high speed. It drives and handles very nice with no rattles. The bottom of the engine is not completely dry and will drip a couple of drops, but no puddles. It will use less than a quart of oil between oil changes.
This is an exceptionally nice truck for being 22 years old, and if maintained properly will hold or increase in value in the future. It is, however, not perfect, and like most vehicles this old, being offered for sale in AS IS condition, and with no warrantys or guarantees whatsoever expressed or implied.
