Vehicle description

1996 Corvette Grand Sport Coupe
I’m the original owner of this rare collector car and it is truly America’s Sports Car in every way. I purchased this Grand Sport, new, from Suburban Chevrolet in Florence, Kentucky in April of 1996 and I have all original documentation and the VHS tape delivered with the car. I’ve meticulously maintained it since new and it is a local car show winner. It is certified as a matching number original as having earned the "Gold" Survivor Certificate at the prestigious Bloomington Gold annual event, please reference the certificate picture attached.
Though it greatly saddens me to sell it, I must reduce the number of toys I own; giving you a chance of a lifetime to own a piece of automotive history that is appreciating in value unlike some other so-called sports cars. If you mind discussing your car every time you stop for gas, this isn’t the car for you. This car is always the center of attention whether you are at a sports car event like Road Atlanta, Sebring, Road America, etc., or driving your local streets. From the eye-catching white racing stripes to the widened 11" black Grand Sport wheels, this collector’s car is truly a classic and an absolute treat for the die-hard Corvette fans that want to own a true collector’s car.
1996 Grand Sport Highlights In 1996, Chevrolet designed the new LT4 engine for just the Grand Sport and because it was too powerful for the available automatic it was only available with a 6-speed manual transmission. With newly designed LT4 aluminum heads, roller rockers, performance camshaft, higher compression and other minor upgrades, this engine is rated a conservative 330 horsepower. This immaculate Grand Sport is optioned with Z51 performance handling package, premium Delco Gold CD/Cassette Stereo FM/AM Radio with Bose speakers; 10 way power driver and passenger Red Leather seats; cruise control; power windows; tinted windows. The 1996 Grand Sports, whether coupe or convertible, wears Admiral Blue paint with an Arctic White racing stripe and a pair of Red hash marks on the left front fender honoring its historic Corvette 1963 namesakes developed specifically to beat Carroll Shelby’s Cobras. This is the last year for what many Corvette enthusiasts believe has a "muscle-car" feel. On the inside, the rare Red Sport Seats embroidered with “Grand Sport” keep you snug while running through the gears. This Grand Sport is production number 508 and one of only 86 Coupes equipped with the Red / Black Interior and Z51 Suspension. There were only 1000 Grand Sports made in 1996 and this one belongs in your garage. The Grand Sport option (RPO Z16) included the LT4 engine, which was only available with the 6-speed manual transmission, special Admiral Blue paint with Arctic White racing stripe down the center of the car and two red hash marks over the left front fender commemorating the 1963 Grand Sport Corvettes. Unique Grand Sport badging was placed on each side of the hood above the side fender vents as well as a unique chrome plated Corvette emblem on the nose and gas lid. Grand Sports were available in both Coupe and Convertible versions. Only 1,000 were built consisting of 810 coupes and 190 convertibles. Grand Sport Coupes were equipped with P275/40ZR-17 tires on 17x9.5" wheels in front and P315/35ZR-17 tires on 17x11" wheels in the rear. Grand Sport Convertibles were equipped with P255/45ZR-17 tires on 17x8.5" wheels in front and P285/40ZR-17 tires on 17x9.5" wheels in the rear. Coupes came equipped with molded fender flares above the rear wheel arches while the convertibles did not. Grand Sport Wheels were the same as the 1994-1995 ZR-1"s 5 spoke wheels except painted with a glossy black finish and a 50mm offset rather than the ZR-1"s 36mm. Special gloss black finished front brake calipers with the "Corvette" name in bright aluminum were also part of the Grand Sport option as well. Interior color choices for the Grand Sport were limited to all black, or a unique Torch Red and Black combination. . red seats & trim but with black carpeting. The "Grand Sport" name was embroidered on the seat headrests. All Grand Sport equipped Corvettes came with their own unique Vehicle Identification Number sequence, distinct from regular production 1996 Corvettes. The only other production Corvette up to this time to have had a unique VIN sequence was the 1990-1995 ZR-1. The Z16 Grand Sport RPO was a 1-year only option for 1996 Corvettes. The production run for the Grand Sport ran from April 3rd, 1995 for GS VIN #0001 and ended with GS VIN #1000 on June 14th, 1996. They"re just plain cool.Shipping: as the buyer, you are responsible for all shipping charges.
