Vehicle description
This is a 1993 190E 2.6 with Sportline package for sale. This was the first ever limited edition car offered by Mercedes-Benz and the final production year for the 190E. It is 1 of 700 manufactured.
The special parts of interest on the vehicle are it"s black and red leather Recaro seats with matching door panels, carbon fiber style dash trim, smaller diameter leather wrapped sport steering wheel, quick ratio sport steering box, wheel size exclusive to this vehicle, Sportline trimmed leather shift knob, and shorter suspension springs with corresponding shock absorbers. From the looks of it, the previous owner may have replaced the shock absorbers with the non-Sportline shocks, which has slightly raised it"s ride height.
This car can be a fixer upper. It"s got 196,000 on the odometer. My father bought this one when he randomly came across it locally a few years ago. He drove it to work with pretty much zero issues the entire time. It was officially retired when the radiator sprung a leak. 80% sure it"s the radiator, slight chance it could be the lower hose, but I didn"t inspect closely because I had no intention of repairing it. Coolant was leaking from the lower front area underneath, near the radiator. The heater core was bypassed when it started leaking, so that would require replacement. It is also missing the rear half of the exhaust due to rust (resonator and muffler). The car was running great when it was last driven, aside from the coolant leak and exhaust issue. It has the usual oil leak from the cylinder head as well. Tires need to be replaced. Missing right rear quarter panel trim. It has been sitting for a couple years now. Tires hold air, but one is flat in photos. Tow required to buyers destination.
The main draw for this car would be it"s limited edition Recaro seats with matching door panels. The seats are a little weird in this car. It appears that the leather of the front two seat bottoms may have been adjusted or something by an upholstery place. It"s hard to tell. Or the leather shrunk somehow. The leather of the passenger front seat bottom is very taught and looks stretched. Due to this, there is some tearing on it. Tear in front drivers seat as well. The front seat backs seem to be untouched and ok. The rear seats are fine and have the split seams on the top of the seat back as per usual. The door panels are in pretty decent shape. There is minimal shrinkage on the tops of the door panels. Part of the passenger side panel is coming off, but I think it would just be an adhesive fix. The carbon fiber dash pieces are all great with the exception of the climate control piece. The shifter panel is pretty great considering it"s mileage. This trim piece normally cracks and falls apart first, but managed to remain in great shape.
Message with any additional questions.
