Vehicle description
“Donny”
1993 Cadillac Coupe Deville - NO RESERVE - finished in black with a black canvas “Full Cabriolet” roof and near perfect black leather interior. This car is the quintessential early 90’s personal luxury coupe. It is the last of its breed. I have owned many Devilles from this era and I must say that the venerable 4.9 litre V8 (200 HP) produced in this body style (only from 1991 to 1993) is truly, and by far the best Cadillac ever produced. This car has serious torque and highway passing power. The body style is the very last of true “Cadillac Style”. Unmistakable vertical tail lights, sleek and low slung lines and American luxury beyond belief. This is the last real Cadillac as the following year the company began its journey of trying to imitate its European competitors and sadly, today, sitting in a Cadillac sedan is no different than sitting in an Acura. My Grandfather would turn over in his grave.
I have affectionately named this black on black on black Caddy “Donny” in honor of one my favorite gangster movies “Donny Brasco”.
This highly optioned car had an original MSRP of $37,113.00 in 1993. Donny sports the “1SB option package” which includes: illuminated entry system, mirrors - illuminated vanity, trunk lid pull down - power, trunk mat, GOLD ornamentation package, FULL CABRIOLET ROOF, auto day/night mirror, lower accent molding color - delete, accent striping, wire wheel discs, Stereo with Compact Disc, Leather seating areas and more… I purchased this wonderful car from the 2nd owner who purchased it from Columbus Cadillac as a certified pre-owned automobile in 1997 (documentation included).
Fast forward to today, this particular specimen is a very well preserved driver with only 101k original miles. While NOT a “show car”, Donny presents well. The black leather interior looks and feels nearly new with no stains, rips, tears or wear. It even smells new. Even the armrests are perfect with no cracks which are so often found on this model. The headliner is original and does show a small section that needs to be tightened up (pictured). To be expected of a nearly 30 year old car, there are a few scratches and nicks here and there, but overall, the car is in above average condition for its age. The biggest detractor would be a small dent on the hood where a garage door fell on the car some years ago (pictures below).
Donny runs and drives great. I personally spent almost $3k over the past 18 months in maintenance including new AC, new tires, new power antennae, regular service and other misc repairs. The AC blows ICE COLD.
If you have read this far, I probably don’t have to school you on how this is the last ever Coupe de Ville produced and arguably the very last of the best Cadillac ever had to offer.
I am a car lover. Unfortunately, my wife and I recently sold our vacation home (where Donny resided) and we have had too many cars at our residence in Orlando. Donny is the last one to go. I am selling this car at “no reserve”. I figure I’ll let the market decide what Donny is worth… for better or worse. I am not a dealer and don’t need to make a particular margin. I just want to sell it. At the end of the auction, this car will sell regardless of the final bid, so bid to win! That said, PLEASE do not bid unless you intend to complete the transaction. Also, please don’t bother asking me what the buy it now price is. The car will sell to the winning bidder at the conclusion of the auction.
HERE ARE A FEW DISCLAIMERS REGARDING CONDITION: 1) the passenger side exterior mirror needs to be repaired, 2) there is a dent on the hood as described above and photographed below. It is not “unsightly” but it is there 3) There is a scuff on the passenger door trim 4)There is a small section of the headliner that is sagging (pictured below). 4) The gold plated ornaments have faded and have corroded a bit 5) The stereo (original) tends to go in and out. Probably a simple loose connection but want to disclose 6) The paint is all original and presents well but upon close inspection you will find a few miscellaneous scratches, chips and nicks here and there. 7) The service SSS light is on. The car’s suspension feels totally normal. In doing some research I found that this light coming on is very common in these cars and likely has nothing to do with the suspension. Most people just remove the bulb. Read a forum thread here: https:/ www.cadillacforums.com/threads/that-infamous-service-sss-code.88132/
Last but not least, given that I am selling this car “as-is” and “where-is”, if you have any questions or concerns about the condition of this car please contact me. Your personal or mechanic’s inspection is welcome.
A $500 non-refundable deposit will be required within 48 hours of the close of the auction. The remaining funds will need to be paid either via cash or wire transfer. Full payment must be received within 7 days of the close of the auction. The car will not leave my driveway until funds have CLEARED my account. The car is located at my residence in Orlando, FL.
