Vehicle description
Selling a 1991 Cadillac to settle an estate. The car is a two owner car, with the recent owner owning it since 1994. The car had been sitting in a garage for some time since his passing. I installed a new battery and some fresh gas, and after a while cranking the car started, but ran poorly. After diagnosing the problem, I found the fuel pump only putting out 5 psi, so I installed a new fuel pump. The car now starts immediately and runs great. I also changed the oil and filter. Other than those two things, I have not touched a thing. It is as it was when we first pulled it out of the garage.
The car is in overall great shape. The car runs down the highway at 70 mph with ease, and rides like a Cadillac is supposed to. The paint seems to be original, and all the chrome is there and in great shape. The chrome moulding behind the right rear tire is off, but is in the trunk and also in great shape. The plastic clips holding it on are broken and would need to be replaced. There is some rust starting as seen in the pictures, but no rot. The underside appears to have been undercoated when new and is super solid. Frame, floors have zero rust.
The interior is nice blue leather that is in amazingly nice shape. The seats have little to no wear, dash, headliner, trim all very nice. Carpet is the old style deep shag that is a little worn, but still presentable. The only fault I can find with the inside is the drivers door panel has a couple of splits showing in the leather by the armrest.
It has a couple issues that I noticed when checking it over. The windshield washers are inop, the left directional signal works but does not cancel, the power antenna makes noise when turning the radio on, but does not move, and the blower motor has been unplugged as it runs on full speed all the time when plugged in. The antenna will need a new mast ($20) and the climate control and blower motor problem was common and it will need a blower motor resistor. Easy fix - two screws - but kind of pricey. I found new ones on Ebay for $150. A small portion of the rear tailpipe is gone, but the rest of the exhaust is in great shape. The car has 110,500 original miles on it.
The car is equipped with the 5.0 litre V8, and all the usual Cadillac stuff (driver / passenger power 8 way seats, leather interior, rear air leveling suspension, locking wire wheel covers, tilt / telescopic steering wheel, automatic climate control, digital radio and dash, power mirrors, etc. .)
All in all, this is a great running driving car that needs little work to be mint, or drive as is. I don"t have any history on the car as the owner is deceased, but have checked it out fairly thoroughly so you know what you"re getting. I put over 200 miles on the car this weekend and the car was awesome.
Selling at a low reserve. Check my feedback and bid with confidence.
