Vehicle description
This is your chance to own a armored truck that usually never gets into the public"s hands. All Armored trucks are taken to the scrap yard by contract and cut into pieces when they are placed out of service. This one never made it. I was told it was used to collect toll change along the turnpike. I bought this about 5 years ago with just a white finish. I wrapped it in the design you see today. ( Wrap is very sun burnt after 5 years) For the past 5 years I have volunteered my time and truck to work closely with the US Army recruiting battalion bringing it to various shows, around the area as they requested.
The inside has been transformed into a comfortable RV, US Army decorated. Speakers are mounted above the driver for the am/fm cd player and convenient shelving in and around the drivers area was added. A flat screen TV, DVR, Xbox, back up camera, portable air conditioner, (vents through the roof), two leather recliners, CB, Ham radio, and a police PA and siren. In addition there are fans mounted to circulate the air stream around the interior. I have everything powered up with a 110v extension cord. A storage box was attached to the rear of the truck to house a set of Honda 2000 generators to run off grid. (generators are not included with the truck)
The vault is controlled by air. The door slides and poppers are air and key. The vault has been converted into a huge storage area, with shelves where an air mattress can be placed for overnight trips. The truck has been used exclusively in Northeast Florida for the past 5 years. The vinyl on the hood and other places has weathered, cracked and faded due to the intense sun. Gas, oil, temp, air and battery gauges all work. No issues with overheating or air pressure.
I"m told it is powered by an International DT460 Diesel motor that is one of the best ever made. A three speed automatic transmission transfers the power to the duel wheels in the rear. It is registered as a truck in Florida. I have kept up maintenance, oil changes, new brakes and rotors as well as rubber. The truck runs without any major issues. There are a couple small issues that show the age. Although the side doors open manually, the door poppers may not be working as they should, the instrument lights, speed o, and tach work intermittently and the vinyl is showing substantial wear on the hood and in some places more than others but overall you could drive this truck anywhere once it belongs to you.
The interior and close up exterior pictures displayed, were taken recently with the exception of the truck on location shots. The motor is governed at 64mph for safety reasons as many large trucks on the road today are.
I would suggest removing the wrap.You can also place your own design on it. The truck has a base coat of white enamel paint underneath. There is very limited signs of rust on the drivers side (step) but I don"t see any other issues. Please keep in mind it is a 26 year old truck that will have some blemishes.
