Vehicle description
This cruiser had 130,000 miles when I bought it. It has never left me broken down or stranded and I drove it all over the country at some point or another. It was my daily driver for 15 years until 2013. For the last 5 years it has been stored and used on my family farm. I personally performed 95% of repairs to ensure that it stayed in top shape. I took care of this cruiser as if I would keep it forever. I do not want to sell it but my parents want their barn space back and I live two states away so I have no choice but to comply. Mechanically, this car is turn-key ready for a cross country adventure. It runs and sounds great. ALWAYS starts right up even in cold weather. Most amazing aspect is that there is virtually NO RUST anywhere on the vehicle except for the standard corrosion on the exhaust system and a couple 1/2" size spots on the top of roof. I have run 33", 32" and 31" tires but recently returned to a smaller size 285-75-15 tire. Engine still has good compression and I always babied it for longevity sake. I never was one to hot-rod the vehicle. The 4x4 low and locking hubs work great. ARB bumpers front and back. Some of the external paint and indoor carpeting is showing wear and tear.
Photo Gallery: In full and complete disclosure the first 13 pictures show how great the overall condition is while the last 9 remaining photos in the gallery show the only trouble spots.
Pros: 95% rust free! Lifetime of routine preventative maintenance. Engine in top shape despite high mileage. ARB bumpers front and back, Rancho 2000 Shocks. Dash is in great shape. Tinted windows. Seat covers. 3 extra 32" tires. Ceiling fabric is still as tight as it was new. Engaged 4x4 low with locked hubs sounds good without any whining sound. Towing package. Transmission, Rear-End, and Transfer Case is in A+ shape. Breaking system works great. Mechanically sound. Tires okay but wagon wheels are new. Heater and fan works well.
Cons: A/C compressor has a leak. Paint clear coat is peeling off on the roof and hood. Sun fading on engine hood. Two small dings near bumpers (as shown in photos). Rear of roof rack is slightly bent but hardly noticeable. Carpeting on the back bench seat and tailgate area is degrading and showing deteriation. Power windows on passenger side are super slow. Audio system does not work. Gas gauge calibration is off. Speedometer broke and I never replaced it because it never leaves the farm and rarely drives over 40MPH. Cigarette tray is missing.
