You"re bidding on a very nice 1989 20th Anniversary Trans Am Indy 500 Pace Car. This car is from the Estate of William Craig, who was my uncle and the original owner. My uncle was quite a car guy and also a master mechanic. He had a very large collection of muscle and classic cars. As with all his cars, the Trans Am has been well taken care of always garaged, and serviced regularly. Most of the mileage on this vehicle was driven by him and my cousin. Unfortunately, the Trans Am like many of the other vehicles have not been driven much since my uncle"s passing. I may have put on a thousand miles or so since 2007. However, the Trans Am has been started on a regular basis and the battery always kept charged. It has passed emissions annually, just recently renewed in July.
This car is in original condition, free of rust, never in an accident, the paint is showing no wear, and all instruments are operational. Overall it"s in good mechanical condition. It"s equipped with a 3.8L V-6 Turbocharged Engine. Power steering, locks, and windows. Four wheel disc brakes, automatic transmission, dual exhaust, cruise control, tilt steering, and an am/fm stereo cassette player. Tan leather interior, original gold mesh style wheels, and less than one thousand miles on the relatively new Michelin tires.
The issues I"m aware of, the Trans Am needs heater core replacement. Also, needs valve cover gasket, and rear gas struts for rear window. Other than these three issues I know of no other problems. This car runs and handles great! In my opinion the best ever Indy Pace Car with a V-6 Turbocharged Engine. It"s very quick off the line and absolutely a pleasure to drive!
NADA"s base price for an 89 Pontiac 20th Anniversary Trans Am Indy 500 Pace Car lists for $19,900.00 (low retail) and $48,000.00 (high retail) I believe this Trans Am to be better than average. However, I"m listing for auction at $19,900.00 as the starting point. I really like this vehicle and would like to keep it. But as fate would have it I"m not getting any younger and I"ve got several other vehicle"s to deal with, as well. So, it"s time to part ways with the Trans Am. I hope whoever ends up with it enjoys it as much as we have.
