I really find emailing and texting in regards to a high-ticket purchase item like this a waste of time, as any truly serious potential buyer is going to want to speak to the person they are about to send $18,500 to. For this reason I insist you give me a jingle.
Truck/ chassis/ body has just over 149,000 miles, new powertrain has about 110,000
Yes, you can buy this solid, excellent running Defender 90 right now for $18,500 *with* a recently installed 300Tdi engine and matching long-bellhousing R380 5 speed transmission. This is the price. Regardless of what the auction price is at. You will not be buying it for less money, unless you call me. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time and sell to any able-financed buyer. Anyone with zero feedback, or new to ebay will be blocked from bidding unless they contact me first, as too many zeros here bid win, and then disappear, and ebay does nothing to help a seller in this situation - SO - we become cranky and suspicious of low feedback when selling expensive things.
ONTO The Defender! - - It has the 300Tdi . R380 5 speed. Very little to zero rust, especially in the places most of them rust. Any cheaper truck than this one will be ugly underneath - Mine is not!
Tires are in good condition, but an odd military-type tread. Working snorkel. Long-travel shock absorbers. Tube-type rear step bumpers. NEW front seats. Starts/runs/drives/stops just fine. Onto the problems :
PROBLEMS: Dents and scratches throughout - Please view photos. Some cosmetic issues , torn or missing floor mats, dirty dashboard plastics, difficult to wind up drivers side window. Biggest problem ; noisy transmission above 50 MPH - - I think it will be a U-joint, but I have not inspected yet. I will update ad when I do. Or, call me. Shifts fine through all 5 gears, but gets gradually noisier over 50 .
Sliding rear windows nice upgrade.
