“1989 Jeep. Fantastic Ride! I have restored it mechanically and cosmectically. 5 year project to do that. See item description below for work done. Here is a brief history since I have owned the Jeep. 2012 - Purchased with 149k miles. Carfax shows 9 previous owners but no problems. 2013 - Started restoration. I did this with a network of local rebuild/restoration vendors. Have driven off/on over the years before taking back to the shops for next phase. Finished restoration in early 2018. Over $35K invested (in addition to the purchase price) for various repairs/recondition. Car now has 154k miles. 2019 - I kept the car at a second home when not undergoing repairs. Now I've sold the 2nd home and 'Thirsty' his name has to sit outside b/c of lack of garage space. I rarely drive him and he's much too nice to be outside. Hence the sale.”

Vehicle description

Thirsty is a blast to drive. Thumbs up and compliments wherever I take him. I occassionally drive him to my office in metro Atlanta. No issue with the 70 mph cruise downtown.
Here is a list of items repaired since I have owned: - New Engine - New exhaust system - New Power Steering gearbox - New Power Steering pump and hydraulics - New radiator - New alternator - New battery (multiple times. last replaced in 2018) - New shocks and stabilizer bar - Wheel bearings repacked - New front door seals - Rear differential resealed - New interior (seats, floor carpet, headliner) - New paint - New wood siding - New grill - New tires - 1500-2000 miles back - New fog lights - New radio/cd (bluetooth/satellite) and 4 new speakers
I have receipts for all the work I have done and can send photos to interested buyer if desired
Oil changed every 1-2k miles since i have overhauled the engine as I don"t drive much. Currently no leaks anywhere which is unheard of for a GW.
Here is the list of things I know that don"t work that drive me crazy but it is hard to find the parts or expertise for repair.
- Fog lights - New lights installed 3-4 years back. For some reason some sort of electrical problem (could be fuse) because 1 stopped working. I disconnected them both and haven"t had time to assess/fix. The fog light switch on the lower dash is bad and I can"t find a replacement. They are hardwired to be on when the lights are on. - Rear window - The window works with a key at the tailgate. The dashboard switch stopped working 6 months back and my mechanic says I need a new switch. I can"t find one. - Left footwell leak. There is a small leak when i rains at left footwell. I have tried to fix with my interior guy and also with new door seals. The later helped, but a small leak exists. I can"t find the source. I keep the car covered when it rains. It"s annoying when I"ve spent 5+k on the interior. Someone more mechanically inclined may find/fix the leak. - Cruise control. This one doesn"t drive me crazy but it doesn"t work. I"ve never tried to isolate and fix since most of the time prior to bringing the car back to Atlanta, I only used it to circle a resort community neighborhood outside of Charleston. - Radiator fan clicking noise. Unsure the issue as I can"t isolate. Appears to be some sort of rubbing/interferance noise. Doesn"t make the sound at idle and normal speed. Having trouble isolating to repair.
Otherwise, the car is "strong". I would not hestiate to get in it for a 1000 mile trip. My mechanic says it"s in great shape and needs to be driven. Here"s your chance.
If I had garage space I would keep it.
Let me know if you desire more photos.
