Vehicle description
For Sale is my 1988 BMW 635csi. This is the classic E24 chassis, and straight rust-free examples like this are getting harder & harder to come by. The VIN is WBAEC841XJ3266203. It is “Lachssilber Metallic” (203) exterior over “Silber Leder” (201) interior, and was produced on May 25 th , 1987. As of this writing on July 29, 2017, the odometer shows 315,297 miles, but is recently no longer operational. I acquired this car in January 2016 from another BMW enthusiast, and had hopes to restore it (but I’ve got too many projects). The engine is the 3.5L M30 inline six-cylinder, and the transmission is an automatic. Both still work strong. The GOOD : · The self-leveling suspension was abandoned (but reservoir in the spare tire well & “bombs” in the rear wheel wells still exist) and replaced with an H&R & Bilstein Sport suspension. · ALL body panels still contain the VIN number, showing matching VIN numbers all around, proving that this is an unmolested example, and never in any incidents. · Engine has gone through many updates, including a whole new cooling system (rad, water pump, t-stat, fan, hoses, etc.), spark plugs, alternator, battery, etc. Again, it pulls very strong. · Brand new OEM air dam. Fog lights are stored in trunk (until air dam was painted, which hasn’t occurred yet). · Extra OEM parts come with the deal. New kidney grilles, new front headlight grilles, hood vent grilles, upper & lower control arms, and many more! (refer to the pictures) · The best “good” of all, is that this example will be VERY easy to take to the next level. The not-so-GOOD : · It obviously needs a re-spray. The roof & trunk are oxidized, but the rest of the panels are in good condition. I was planning to have the whole car re-sprayed (after the dent & scrape behind RR tire were repaired – see pictures). · I got rid of the TRX wheels & tires, and it currently runs on Style 42’s with Continental tires (with plenty of tread). The Style 42’s simply need to be refinished, and will look great. · The front seats need to be refinished – or replaced with sport seats (if you can score a pair). · The high-beams don’t work. When activated, they actually kill power to the low-beams. A gremlin I never chased down. · Heater & Air Condition work great, however, the fan just started making some noise. For more photos, please contact me, and I"ll send you a link to a DropBox folder containing 50+ photos.
Again, this is a great example with lots of potential for someone to take to the next level, and hopefully enjoy for many years to come. Drop a 5-speed in it, have a blast! The car is located in Maple Valley, WA (near Seattle). No “tire kickers” – serious bidders only. I prefer to deal with in-person transactions, but will entertain vehicle transport (if arranged by the buyer). Transport will need to come to my residence to pick up the car, and payment for the vehicle will need to be in full prior to car being loaded onto the transport. Payment terms accepted are $1000 deposit upon win of bid, then CASH or PayPal (in advance) for the remaining difference. Good luck! !
