Vehicle description
This car is is a blast. It is a true 1987 Pontiac Trans AM GTA. It has had the best care a car could have over its 34 years. Heated garage. Never had any damage. You will be buying the perfect car. It is my car. Bought it from Grandmother. It comes with all the documents, Even has the copy of the original Title. This is the 1st production year Pontiac put the large 5.7 EFI engine in the car. It is LOADED. Power everything. cold A/C Everything, I mean Everything works. Judged cars like these need everything working as it should to win. This car is National certified both Jr and Sr GOLD. ( The car needs to be judged 2 different years to earn gold Sr.) 397/398 points out of 400 points awarded in the original survior catagory. This car is exactly as decribed. You will not be disappointed. Even though the car is 34 years old the outside really shines. There are just a couple of small stone chips. but you REALLY need to look to find them (maybe 3) and the edge of the drivers door may have one rub mark where I opened it too close to the wall, but no damage.
The wrap around rear spoiler does have a one inch or so crack in the rubberized paint. I have taken a close up for you. Every single Firebird in 1987 with the wrap around color coded spoiler has the same problem. My car most likely is the best of any of these minor problem. Because this is so commom, There are a couple of proformance shops that specialize it repairing this spoiler as well as most good paint shops. Never really notice it ( as well as most anybody), PLUS my goal has always been to keep it all original, so I elected not to do anything about the crack in the paint on the spolier. I spent a lot of words decribing this just because I want you to know everything about my the car. I replaced the headliner because (like most firebirds) the glue holding it up gave up, so the headliner is new. The alternator was rebuilt last year with NOS GM parts The pop-up headlight motor have the new neoprem ball gear replaced ( the all go after this long) The battery was new about 3 years ago. all period correct for Delco GM So as you can see the car is all ready to go There are new tires mounted . I have the original Eagle GT tires, and they go with the sale. It is very rare to have the car with the original, and now out-of production, Eagle Gt tires. The tires of course only have 19K miles on them just like the car. but I did not want to drive around on 30+ year old rubber.
Original owner"s manuals window sticker A lot of paperwork like original BOS on title application, you will get the whole file of orginal paperwork Comes with dealer installed front nose bra ( I never put it on) Also has picture of the original owner infront of the car. You get all the awards if you like. The car has been certified, so rest assured you are getting a great car and peice of history. Let me know any questions. I have it in storage right now and we car get it out of st
