Vehicle Details Low-mileage 1987 Mustang LX 5.0 convertible begrudgingly now available for sale by senior citizen. Both my wife and I have had fun in this car, but we rarely drive it. This is not a race car, it’s a nice, classic Mustang 5.0. Just bought a new Honda, so it’s time to make some room in the carport. Passed Virginia state inspection in April. These 5.0 Mustangs are starting to go crazy price-wise, so take advantage of this moderately priced deal. Like everybody, I would have preferred a coupe or hatchback, but I bought this because of the condition of the car. Most coupes or hatchbacks are ragged out and the nice ones are priced really stupid. Was getting ready to put subframe connectors under it, but decided to just go ahead and let it go now. It's fun to drive, but getting ready for retirement is more important now. I had my fun and made it a better car, now it's someone else's turn.Car has had a recent re-paint and new top installed along with an updated interior (recovered GT front seats, upgraded stereo and other misc. pieces). The paint on the car is in great shape and shines well with minor paint defects and zero rust including the undercarriage. The interior is very good condition with small rip in rear seat. No major stains or defects. Better yet, the AC works! New fuel tank, pump, float, filter, mufflers, wipers and headlights recently installed along with two new oxygen sensors and some trim pieces. Rolling stock has been updated with fresh 16x7 1991-93 pony wheels shod with good 245/50ZR16 B.F. Goodrich G-Force T/A tires. Vehicle is subject to local sale, so auction may be ended prematurely without notice. This car has a clean title and CarFax and shows very well. Car is not perfect, but has proven to be a reliable head-turner. One of the rear quarter windows is getting weak, the original rear leather seat cushion has a tear and some of the weatherstripping is close to needing replacement, but for a 34-year old car, I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere.
