Vehicle description
13.5K - KILOMETER 1986 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 VIN SALLDVAC7AA26S109 Please note this is not a Santana D90. While the ones entering the US lately are gorgeous, we purchased one three years ago and found it very difficult to source parts. This Land Rover Defender Ninety is the simplest, most rugged variant of the finest 4×4 ever made! This left-hand drive 90, believed to be a former NATO vehicle, was fully refurbished and repainted in the UK prior to importation to the United States. It is currently titled in Virginia and boasts a current motor vehicle safety inspection. Believed to have been driven only 13,000 Kilometers due to having been stationed at an airbase in Spain. Being a NATO vehicle, it was fleet maintained and mostly sat in an airplane hangar until it was decommissioned and sold to a Land Rover specialty shop in the U.K. https:/ www.pablanchard.co.uk/shop/ The truck is finished in camo color somewhere between beige and dark brown camo over an elegant grey cloth interior, and is outfitted simply with a 2.5-liter diesel and 5-speed manual transmission. Befitting of its low mileage, this Land Rover features surprisingly tight steering and strong brakes, a far cry from often worn-out higher mileage Land Rovers. The 2.5-liter diesel is torquey and responsive at low RPMs. This, coupled with the truck’s short gearing, makes it capable of negotiating nearly any terrain. We have lovingly used it daily for advertising and supply runs for our farm preschool and will miss her dearly. From the spotless interior to the rust-free frame and floors, this Land Rover is among the best we’ve seen, and is ready to enjoy as-is, or provide a basis for your dream build. The only blemishes are a little paint peeling around bulkhead air vents and at the leading edge of the aluminum roof (see photos). More photos available upon request.
