Vehicle description
Rare classic European roadster is a one owner ultra low mileage classic in bright red over a tan leather interior. Original owner added chrome aftermarket wheels but original alloy wheels are include in the sale. Signal Red finish is near new condition with only a few paint chips, and there is no rust anywhere! Interior is trimmed in tan leather with armrest and optional fold down "kinder" jump seats. Slight crack on driver"s seat and dash. Aftermarket stereo added, but original unit available if desired. Original title (copy), owner"s manuals (in German and American) and accessories included. Please note, I replaced the 500 SL emblem with proper 280 SL badge after pictures were taken. The European versions of the SL ( Sport Leicht/Sport Light ) roadsters offered a lower stance, smaller sleeker looking front and rear bumpers, aluminum hood (bonnet) and a higher output power plant. This the last model year for the 280 SL and is more powerful than the US V8 version 380 SL which is heavier than this car. The SL is very nimble on windy roads but retains a very comfortable (big car) ride. Mechanically, runs, drives and brakes straight and true. All accessories operate as should, with exception of a/c unit which is low on Freon.
