This 1984 Volkswagen Rabbit GTI was purchased two years ago from the original owner, who performed a repaint in the original black finish. The 1.8-liter inline-four is mated to a 5-speed manual transaxle, and servicing in November 2017 included changing all fluids, installing a rebuilt head, new timing and alternator belts, a new water pump, and more. Modifications consist of a complete aftermarket exhaust, new Bilstein struts and lowering springs, and aftermarket front and rear stabilizer bars. This Mk1 GTI is sold with records from the seller’s ownership, the mechanical components that were replaced, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name. The suspension has been refreshed by the seller with new Bilstein struts and shocks, Autotech lowering springs, new control arms and bushings, and aftermarket front and rear stabilizing bars. The factory Snowflake wheels were recently fitted with new Bridgestone tires. The maroon interior has been fitted with a Blaupunkt CD player, short-shift kit, and European-market Golf shift knob. Striped seat upholstery is said to be the original material apart from a repair performed to the driver’s seat in the correct fabric. The fuel-injected 1.8L inline-four is paired to a 5-speed manual and features a head rebuilt to stock specifications, with OEM components by Scroggins Machine, Inc. of Houston.
