This is a very nice example of a very rare "SUV"
Before Nissan made the pathfinder, and before Toyota made the 4 Runner, a company called Matrix 3 took new Nissan 720 pickups and converted them into some of the very first SUV"s ever!
This is one of those rare and special vehicles. They named it the Bushmaster.
This has lived its entire life in California and was used regularly until the engine was removed in the 90s to be rebuilt. Unfortunately it sat without it"s engine until 2019 when I bought it from its original owner. By then the original block was lost but the intake along with all the smog equipment was stored in the back.
I"ve spent the last year bringing this amazing vehicle back to life on my YouTube channel.
I found the correct engine block and rebuilt it along with many other aspects of the vehicle.
This is now a very well sorted truck that runs excellent and drives just as it did in its day.
Too much work was done to list it all, but here are some of the main things done in the last year: - Engine Rebuild - New Starter, alternator, water pump, etc. . - New Wheels and Tires - New Brakes - New Clutch - New Headliner - New Front Axles - New Catalytic Converter and Muffler - New Fuel Pump and Fuel Tank
This truck is almost 40 years old so it does have some issues. The original Nissan Stereo with tape deck is still in the dash, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work. It lights up sometimes but there is no sound. Maybe it"s just a bad connection or a problem with the speaker. All the AC components are original and in tact but the AC does not blow cold. Maybe it just need to be recharged I don"t know. I have not look into it all. As with all cars from this era there is a lot of plastic on the interior and some of it is faded and brittle. The Seatbelt light and buzzer work intermittently and sometime the seatbelt light stays on.
