Vehicle description
One of only 2,500 built, this rare Daytona 500 Pace Car edition Trans Am is in very good, original condition. Paint shows very well. Original leather and suede interior is in fair shape. The original 305 V-8 is strong, and has just 61,000 original miles. It has t-tops and the a/c works. Original radio still works, as does the power antenna, and it still has its pace car floormats that were unique to these cars.
This car has made multiple trips from Maryland to Ohio for the annual Trans Am Nationals, including in 2019. It still has the original Crossfire fuel injection setup. Four-speed transmission shifts well. It has the optional turbine-style wheels (not the white hubcaps) and did not come with pace car decals. (I have the build sheet). In terms of issues, it is leaking oil and the timing needs to be set. On the whole it is a solid car for someone who appreciates these rare cars, that were built to commemorate the 25th running of the Daytona 500. Of the 2,500 built, there were 1,980 automatics.
I have owned this care since 2007, and can count on one hand the number of others I have seen. Would like to send it to a good home. Thanks for looking, and please contact me with questions.
