Vehicle description
I am selling my 1982 Toyota Landcruiser FJ60. It is a California Car with less than 59,000 original documented miles. I am the second owner and purchased it five years ago. I bought it from the original owner, a pilot who kept it at his second house in Palm Springs. He used it as a second car when in town. This is an original blue plate California Car, which has lived in California all of its life. It is unrestored and in its original condition. It has always been kept indoors and covered. You will not find a more original FJ60 Landcruiser with as little miles as this one. It is truly one of a kind.
The engine is exactly what you would expect - a Landcruiser engine with less than 60K miles on it. It is a good strong engine with a great pickup and a lot of torque. It will outlast the new owner. It has a 4 speed manual transmission. The transmission shifts smoothly, and it is a pleasure to drive. It is four wheel drive with wheel locks and an inside gear shift for low and high 4wd gears. I have never actually used the 4wd, except to put it in gear once a year to make sure it works.
The body is as immaculate as the mechanicals for a 35 year old car. It does not have any rust that I can see or that I know about. It has never been in an accident. The body and paint are original also. The paint is the original paint (both the color and the actual paint itself). It does have an older look to it, but it cleans up nicely and gives it a classic look. There are a couple spots of overzealous buffing that have caused the paint to be brushed off, and I have tried to show it in the pictures. They are minor and they do not bother me. But all in all, the paint is in good shape for the original paint. The main blemish on the exterior is behind the rear right wheel well where a branch dragged against the lower part behind the fender as I was backing out of my driveway.
The interior is all original also. The seats look really nice with no tears. I keep them covered. The dash is all original and looks nice with no cracks. The radio is the original radio that came with the car and it works. The carpets are the original carpets, and they do not have any tears. I do think the headliner may have been replaced before I purchased it. It looks newer than the rest of the interior. It also has a heater under the driver seat for the rear passengers. It has an air conditioner, which works well.
This is as original a classic Landcruiser as you will find. I do not think, you will find one of this originality or quality.
I recommend that you do all your due diligence and checking prior to purchase. Buyer has the option to have the vehicle checked out at the local Toyota Dealer. I will help in any way possible with viewing or inspections. Good luck.
