| “In solid shape. One rust area the size of a dime right side door immediately above. Clear coat half off only on trunk. Carpets are all there but in various conditions (no holes). Hinge covers for hinges that attach the back of the seat to the bottom of the seat have all been taken off. They will be included, one is bent. The seat belt on passenger side is fully functional but looks a little rough from getting caught in seat when back of seat is moved forward and then back pinching the plastic part and belt itself. The odometer and tripometer have stopped working within the last 5 years when it was just used to drive for the cars sake. All other items on dash operate. The air conditioning is not in working order and one of the fasteners to the hard top as pictured is missing. I just moved the other one to it when I fastened. The gas lid only opens from inside of trunk manually. PLEASE NOTE THIS CAR HAS A DOUBLE ROW TIMING CHAIN (engine was replaced at 130k miles)” |

It rides great, like no feeling new cars can give the driver. It hugs the road and feels invincible.
I have owned this car for over twenty years.It has not been in any accidents of significance, since I don"t remember any. When parked one morning I awoke to a dent on the street side of the car. This is in one of the pictures. The dent is almost unrecognizable in most angles above right wheel, passenger side.
In my mid twenties and the first year I owned the car the original engine broke down. I was on the freeway 8 heading east close to the College exit. The radio was so loud I didn"t hear it but the car came to a stop. The owner of Ziggys German car repair off Miramar Road (no longer extant but reputable in its time) had the foresight to put a double chain rebuilt motor with a third of the miles my car had at the time. The leather or pleather on rim of back seat cover to soft top storage was thrashed when I purchased the car and redone this first year too. An entire paint job by Mercedes Benz of San Diego was also completed about 5 years later. I am surprised they missed the rust area mentioned in condition notes! Since 1998 it has been a second or third car to me and stored for years at a time. In the last 3 years I have not driven this car but only to move it once in a while. The tires are new Kumho Solus kr21 with 80k mile warranty along with a new Mercedes battery installed 2/6/2018 .
The soft top was cut in the mid panel in a supposedly secure garage. It is only one of the sewn panels. The soft top was another item that I had redone but now damaged as noted. Hopefully it is still of value to new buyer and can be repaired. It is still the compartment that houses the soft top when folded down and attached to car. The car still has the tool that secures and removes hard and soft top and will be in the glove compartment. Original Becker radio.Original vintage spare tire. There is an apron with an assortment of tools and some little oval parts in a little clear plastic container. Included in purchase is the car protective cover pictured in the last two pictures. It has its own storage bag and a lock to secure cover when in use. The hub cabs are original to the car and are the shiny upgrade, not the dull ones. I have seen some 380 sls with what look to be 560 sl hubcaps or even those for other body styles completely. See condition description for more items.
