1981 Volkswagen Vanagon all original except for radio, original air cooled engine with about 90000 miles (not near car as I write this)
Just made a 4000 mile road trip from North east to Texas. Love Bruce(that"s his name) but no room for him in storage since we are moving out of country.
Car runs well though had some hard start issues in the past. It has been starting fine the last few times I drove it. Not sure if cleaning grounds fixed it or double relay is sporadically not closing. Have never had any issues while driving.
Replaced the following: - New tires - New fuel pump, filters,hoses and tank - New fuel pressure regulator - Oil changed about 500 miles ago - New passenger side valve cover gasket - New oil cooler
Needs to be fixed: - Radio doesn"t work - Exhaust has hole and needs to be replaced, previous owner welded it together instead of using flanges - Seals on door and top need to be replaced, have ones for camper top - hydraulics on rear hatch need to be replaced - Rust under driver side rear light in engine compartment
