This 1989 Nissan Skyline GT-R is a stock example that was imported to the US from Japan under the 25-year import exemption in September 2015. It is sold with a clear Florida title and all required import paperwork is included. This car has chassis number BNR32-000514 (This is the ACTUAL VIN), making it one of the earliest R32 GT-Rs sold. Extensive paperwork documents one Japanese owner from 1989 until 2015 when the car was imported to the US. I purchased it from the private party that imported the car from Japan. The original instrument cluster is still installed and shows 198k kilometers or approximately 123k miles from new, and the car remains in very good original condition with no past accidents or questionable modifications.
The exterior is in very good condition, and much of the Gun Grey Metallic paint is original with the exception of the front and rear bumpers and a small area on the left rear quarter panel. I used a paint meter and have photos documenting the readings. The bumpers were resprayed prior to import to prepare the car for sale and have some slight orange peel but the color matches nicely.
The interior is in good unmodified condition. The heavily bolstered cloth seats show only minor wear, most notably a patch on the outer portion of the right hand driver’s seat. The driver"s door panel insert has also been replaced. Headliner and the remainder of the interior is very nice. The car also retains all of the Japanese inspection decals and the toll collection device.
The air conditioning with automatic climate control blows cold and the car is equipped with power windows, door locks, and power folding exterior mirrors, all of which work well. The only non-functional accessory is the clock.
The original 2.6L RB26DETT twin turbocharged inline-6 is in good condition with no aftermarket modifications. A compression test showed all 6 cylinders near 150 psi, and the engine runs smoothly with plenty of power. I have only used high octane non-ethanol unleaded fuel. Extensive service documentation in Japanese was provided with the car and the service book shows the timing belt was last replaced in February 2014 at 140,126 kilometers or approximately 86k miles. Since importing the car the following maintenance has been done: New NGK spark plugs New coilpack wiring harnesses New brake pads and rotors, front and rear Four new tires Clutch and brakes bled Oil changed The undercarriage is rust free with no significant dents or damage. The car was shipped via roll-on / roll-off and there are no forklift marks or other dents on the rocker panels and sills. The exhaust is original.
All original owners manuals along with numerous service records, all in Japanese, are included. The seller will also provide records documenting that the car was legally imported with all appropriate paperwork. Due to the 25 year import law more R32s are starting to appear in the US but many of these have sketchy modifications, poorly repaired accident damage, or questionable paperwork. This well maintained stock example is in excellent driver condition, ready to enjoy as-is or serve as a basis for the next owner to customize.
