This is one of the cleanest and hottest CJ-7"s in the country! This rare 1st year Laredo was purchased by the original owner in Florida it had a little over 77K documented original miles on it before it underwent an extensive 20 month frame off rotisserie restoration.
The 1980 "Laredo" package was a first year model for the CJ"s that had various option upgrades from the base model CJ"s and Renegades. This Laredo boasts factory air (that blows ice cold) tilt wheel, factory tach, factory clock, factory flip forward driver seat and dual speakers.
No expense was spared. Just about everything on this Jeep was either replaced, rebuilt or restored. The floors were replaced with OEM replacement panels and the rest of the Jeep is original sheet metal with just a couple small patches were needed! The body was blocked to near perfection and sprayed in stunning satin white pearl that will melt your eyes in the sun and to finish off the custom look it was accented w/black carbon fiber and orange custom badging. All new stainless steel hinges and hardware were used throughout.
The engine is the time tested 258 inline 6. It had 77,000 original miles on it when the restoration was started and showed no signs of unusual wear. The cylinders were pressure tested and all 6 were between 135lbs and 138 lbs. The valve guide seals, timing chain, water pump, alternator, fuel pump were replaced and a brand new NOS carburetor was installed on it. All new gaskets were installed and the engine was resealed. The Tremec 4-speed was completely serviced and a new clutch was installed. The Dana 300 transfer case was also gone through and were necessary. The front axle is a Dana 30 outfitted with a very capable Tru-Trac locker and the rear is a Dana 44 with a rare factory Dana locker.
The interior is 100% brand new as well, every gauge is new. The radio is from Retro Sound. It looks like the original AM radio but has nearly 175 watts of power, is digital and MP-3 or other device ready. The seats, carpet and roll bar padding are right out of the box. This CJ smells brand new! !
The Jeep was tastefully modified by adding Olympic bumpers front and rear, a Smittybilt winch and Hella "Blackout" off-road lights. The blacked out Method 15x8 Billit rims look great with BFG 33"s wrapped around them. Lifted perfectly with a Skyjacker 3" lift and a Daystar 1 inch body lift the Jeep is very off-road capable. The custom billit contrast cut rub rail gives the whole rig a really custom and unique look.
The Jeep comes with the original full steel doors and soft top and hard top.
