Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1979 Jeep CJ-7 is a modified vehicle. The owner has had it for 4 years. The vehicle is drivable. Vehicle Details This has been owned by a few of my friends and I bought it a few years ago and just never really used it. Has some dings and scratches as any old CJ will. Small tear in the top that has been patched. If you want to come see it or need more pictures just let me know! Below is a list from my buddy who owned it last and all the modifications he has done to it. It Eleanor great when I parked it but haven’t had it out running around in over a year so I’m sure it could use a tune up. Specs. . Year-1979 Model- CJ-7 Motor- AMC 304 V8 Carb- Holley 4 barrel new 2014 600cm I believe. Trans case- T18 Dana 20 (2.03/1)- T-18 most sought after tcase in CJ's Front Axle- Dana 30 wide track. Bought used refurbished installed 2015 Rear Axle- Original AMC 20. 2'' spacers installed on wheel to match wide track front. Original metal front end. Fiberglass tub. Maintenance Record 108,826 oil change & new Plugs 109,088 oil change 109,811 last full fill up. I would fill every 100 miles on PIB never ran out. To-do List. . Carb tune-up. Running way to rich and choking her down. Plug wires. I cannot remember last time replaced. Gas Gauge. Rust spot on right front quarter panel. I stored indoors all year. Rust same as day I bought it, never in salt since it was mine. Biggest issue the ratio in front axle does NOT match the rear axle. I bought 2 axles planned on replacing both but after taking out original rear it was in way to good of condition. Not realizing the ratio was off. I only took it off-road once since replacement. Could not tell there was a difference off road. On dry pavement well just don't do that! Water pump might need replaced. Just recently noticed the Fan connection to water pump had a little play in it. I believe that is making a noisy squeal every once in awhile. Heater Vents never worked or hooked up. Tried once and leaked coolant into cab. Head light brights switch is on floor never used it much, but remember its sticky and sometimes would make light go out. Lighting shouldn't be a problem there are light all over that CJ. Misc. Parts to give you. . Metal rear corner armor. To cover fiberglass splintering corners. Air filter Winch Fairlead (needs metal winch plate to provide mounting points) Metal driver seat mounting plate. The driver seat has ghetto lean because fiberglass is failing. I already made the plate to put between seat bracket and fiber glass floor. Current fix is that sweet block of wood. You can keep that. 12Vdc waterproof outlet installed in glovebox.
