Vehicle description
I’ve owned this vehicle for over 35 years and it was entirely rebuilt and restore in 2009. The asking price is $ 55,000 US. Its frame was separated from the body, then, sandblasted, reinforced and repainted. New metallic body panels were mounted on the vehicle with a rubberized coat protection; a double coat of urethane paint was applied under the body and frame. The front fenders, the hood, the bumpers, the suspension, the blades and the shocks were all replaced with brand new parts. The original seats, front and back, were reupholstered like new. Most of the new spare parts came from Spector off-Road, in California. All the invoices issued during the whole process of restoration are available.
The engine was still in running order but once removed from the vehicle, I decided to have it totally rebuilt which was done at Atelier Mécanique Champion, engine specialists located in Laprairie, Qc. The two differentials and the transfer case were opened, inspected and rebuilt; the transmission was opened, inspected and reassembled at Joron Automobiles, a transmission specialist located in Montréal. The break system is brand new, the heating system was entirely overhauled as everything else on this vehicle. The hard top, lateral doors and the ambulance type doors were repainted; the hard top system once painted was wrapped and placed in a crate and stored ever since. Front and rear carpets and the “summer roof” (Canvas) are new and come from Spector. Also new, the tires, are the same size as the original tires. Back in 2009, the odometer was reset at zero: today it reads 2784 kms (1740 miles), which represent the mileage done since the restoration of the vehicle.
In short, this vehicle was restored with a view to preserve its original state. The list of all the parts that were replaced and changed would be too exhaustive. Since it was rebuilt, this vehicle has always been parked inside a heated garage and has never seen the rain. I’m available to answer all questions from a serious potential buyer. I have on hand a small collection of videos showing all many the various stages of the restoration. I invite any serious and interested person to come see it and try it on the road. I dare to say that this vehicle is at the same level as any new vehicle in terms of look and mechanical quality.
