Vehicle description
Reluctantly I am selling my 1978 Ford Ranchero, a sharp, great-running car that I simply do not drive enough. I bought it from a familiar mechanic almost two years ago, so already knew it was well maintained. That still holds true. What really sold me was the big V8; side mufflers that send out a pleasant, throaty rumble; and the shiny black paint that makes the car present really well. There are sporty chrome wheels and excellent Cooper tires. I cannot swear that the odometer has not turned past the 100,000 mark, I can only say that the car runs like a clock. These are the things I would tend to if I were to keep the Ranchero: most of the paint is very nice, but the top paint is peeling, there are a couple of isolated areas on the hood where the primer shows and the right rear fender is in primer, with some bubbling above the wheel. I love the hand stenciling so would have kept most of the paint intact; the wiper knob has broken, so at present the wipers can"t be operated; the bed has a couple of small holes and is in need of repainting, as does the tailgate, which operates well but has corrosion along the lip. These areas are all illustrated in the photos. I have taken all of these minor factors into consideration in my reserve price. Happy to take questions and I truly hope the car goes to an appreciative new owner.
