Vehicle Details I have up for auction a 1978 Chevrolet K-10 Silverado stepside pickup truck. This is a great restoration project starting with a very solid rust free truck. This truck was originally purchased in Diamondville Wyoming from E & L Motors on 12/30/1977 for $6902.04. I have a copy of the original bill of sale. Truck was factory equipped with Silverado trim package V-8 motor, gauges and factory tach. dual exhaust, 4-wd with 4- speed transmission, stepside bed, dual fuel tanks, heavy duty front springs, factory rooftop running lights and it appears to have had a two tone paint,the vin indicates paint code #76 Mahogany #12 Frost, I believe the roof was frost white originally, it has a sliding rear cab window tinted glass and dealer installed custom step bumper with hitch. Truck motor has been replaced with a more modern Vortec engine, I really don't have any info about the engine replacement., but it starts and runs well.The seat was recovered at some point. The dash pad has some cracks as does the door panels and headliner. The outside body of the truck has some very superficial dings and dents, but very minor the doors hang very nice and have no sag and close perfectly. The doors, rockers and fenders all seem perfect! I have not seen body filler at all. I did the magnet test and haven't seen any indication of any bodywork. The backsides of fenders may have surface rust but honestly nothing more. The windshield glass looks great, the side window look like they have some scratches possibly from the dried out rubber weather stripping. Tires and wheels are like new, In my opinion the 4-speed trans and step side bed make this truck extra desirable.
