“More detailed description below. The good:- Absolutely no rust. Body completely restored in early 2018, with period-correct Chevy “Lamp-post Black” paint, fresh bed liner, and paint over the underbody chassis parts as well, to prevent future rust. - Since the body was restored, it has been kept under a car port.- Edelbrock valve head covers, carburetor, intake manifold, distributor, plugs, and wires. All put on in the summer of 2017.- New alternator- New battery- New belts- Flow master mufflersThe bad:- Leak in the transmission, pan or the front seal. Because of this, it has trouble shifting on its own. Since the day I discovered the leak, I have not driven the car. I haven’t had time or money to find it or fix it. I would advise towing it until the leak is fixed. I think, because of the leak, it is getting improper suction to the vacuum modulator. Could also be the shift solenoid, not sure.- Has been sitting a while.- Slow battery drain.”

Vehicle description

PICKUP AND CASH ONLY.
1978 Chevy El Camino Super Sport. Regretfully selling because I don’t have the time or money to drive it, and I’m tired of seeing it sit. Sorry for the long description, just trying to put all the information out on the table. Asking $8000, but I am open to offers.
- 350 Small Block
- TH350 3-Speed Automatic
- 78k Actual miles
The good:
- Absolutely no rust. Body completely restored in early 2018, with period-correct Chevy “Lamp-post Black” paint, fresh bed liner, and paint over the underbody chassis parts as well, to prevent future rust.
- Since the body was restored, it has been kept under a car port.
- Edelbrock valve head covers, carburetor, intake manifold, distributor, plugs, and wires. All put on in the summer of 2017.
- New alternator
- New battery
- New belts
- Flow master mufflers
- Original rally sport wheels with hub cabs and trim rings
- Everyone knows the El Camino.
- Can haul your stuff, AND can haul ass.
- Makes you every redneck’s new best friend.
The bad:
- Leak in the transmission, either the pan or the front seal. Because of this, it has trouble shifting on its own. Since the day I discovered the leak, I have not driven the car. I haven’t had time or money to find it or fix it. I would advise towing it until the leak is fixed. I think, because of the leak, it is getting improper suction to the vacuum modulator. Could also be the shift solenoid, not sure, I do body work, not much mechanic work.
- Has been sitting for close to 6 months because of the leak, so starting it may take some patience until it is fixed and driven. I go out and start it and let it run for a few minutes whenever I get the chance, but it needs to be fully driven. Couple squirts of starter fluid while someone holds the choke shut usually does the trick. Before I let it sit, it started the first try every time, without starter fluid or choke adjustment.
- Gauges don’t always want to work, but do when they feel like it.
- Slow battery drain, but I have an easy disconnect for the battery for when I turn the car off.
- Odometer works, but is not accurate.
- One of the center hubcaps is missing.
- Interior needs some love
Other than that, it is a great old muscle car. Before the leak, I never had a single problem with it. Turns heads everywhere you go. Just needs a little love, and sadly can’t I give it to her anymore. Just looking to get back what I’ve put into it. My name is Austin and you can reach me at 937 - two zero three - six 3 four 3. I work overnight so texts work best, I’ll always try to get back to you as soon as I can. Please put “Camilla Camino” somewhere in the text so I can weed out bots and scams. Thank you for your time.
