Vehicle description
Vehicle Details California Gold! Up for auction is a nearly completely rust free round headlight 4 wheel drive square body 3x3 crew cab. History:I recently acquired this truck after it had been sitting for about 10 years in the gold country of Northern California. It was owned by a firemen for several years who did a big block motor swap, that looks factory and had to be to pass California emissions. The truck was issued the hard to get BAR sticker and passed Ca smog emissions last week! So California guys she is smogged and registered. Engine:The truck has a 1966 396 big block, edelbrock carb (model 1910) so it’s edelbrocks Rochester carb. Runs excellent, no leaks. None!It is said to have a rebuilt turbo 400, I have no paperwork but it shifts very smooth and true. It has a 4” lift I believe with blocks in the rear. Body:Original paint truck, has a few small dents and dings on the body and missing a piece of trim on bed. The tailgate is fully functional but obviously bent to hell. I have a OEM rust free very straight tailgate that comes with the truck. The bed is very cherry and straight. Interior:Original interior, pics speak for themselves. Needs headliner replaced. All windows roll up and down, carpet is in good shape. Really all it needs is a front seat cover. What has been done recently….Plugs and wires, flushed and bled brakes, just put brand new Cooper stt mud terrain tires size 315x75x16 on 16x8 steel wheels at a price of 2k! They maybe have 100 miles. What it needs….The blower motor stays on, I replaced the relay but didn’t fix it so it’s the switch or the motor. The temp gauge works inconsistently sometimes it seems to work, other times it won’t register. I don’t drive it to far for this reason, but I am working on getting an after market temp gauge installed. The left tank works, the switch works, however the right fuel tank filler hose has a small leak when you try and put gas in so I only use the left tank. I would want to go through all the systems completely before I did a road trip but I run it around town and a few miles on the freeway and it runs excellent. For you non California guys, if this truck didn’t run well it would have never passed ca emissions!Last but not least….What makes this truck such a rare find is that it is nearly totally rust free. It has 3 spots to speak of….right front fender behind bumper metal is soft and has a few small holes. The front of the hood has a pin hole in it and the passenger door jamb has about a half dollar size rust area just starting to form under weather strip. That’s it….the floors, rockers, cab corners and everything else is super solid. I will take videos of whatever you need and text them to you. Overall this is a great looking, running truck that is hard to find in such a rust free and original condition. My feedback is excellent, been on a long time. I am not a dealer. I love these old trucks and when I find one I get the need to rescue it and pass it along. I take my reputation very seriously and don’t have patience for those who can’t get on board, so please if your serious I will get you all the answers I can, along photos and videos. Living in Northern California we can still find some of the old good ones! At least California has one thing going for it!This truck is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction if the truck sells. There is no warranty, expressed or implied. Payment is either via wire transfer or cashiers check. Please call or text with questions. I tried to list everything, but questions help for sure. (925) 323-5747 Images Download the Motors app
