Vehicle description
This 1976 Fiat 124 Spider is a California blue plate example that has been with the seller for around 30 months. It was purchased from the original owner showing 122k miles. The odometer has since rolled over and now displays 22k miles. The car retains its factory four-cylinder engine and manual transmission and has had a full refurbishment performed under the original ownership including new professionally-applied paint, a comprehensive interior refresh, engine/suspension work, and more as detailed below. This Spider is now offered in nice mechanical and cosmetic condition with a current California smog certificate, service receipts for the last 36 years, and a clean California title.
A new premium black vinyl top was recently installed and shows well with a clear plastic rear window.
The stock factory wheels have been recently wrapped in matching modern Hankook Optimo H724 tires. Suspension and steering have been addressed with new front/rear suspension bushings, tie rod ends, control arm ends, upper and lower ball joints over the last few years. Also, the steering box was adjusted and tightened and the braking system was flushed out.
The interior looks to be in very nice condition
All instrumentation, lighting, and features are said to be in working order with the exception of an inaccurate oil pressure gauge, and an inoperable windshield washer sprayer, though no known mechanical issue exists. The odometer showed 22k miles when the seller acquired this Spider and it now shows 22k, total mileage is documented from new. Under the front-hinged hood, this Spider retains its original four-cylinder engine and manual transmission. The car is said to have been tuned up by the previous owner just prior to selling the car.
The car carries a current California smog certificate and runs well, shifts smoothly , and has good power at-speed. Service documentation includes receipts for all parts that have been purchased over the last 36 years.
No major fluid leaks or corrosion issues are noted by the seller, and the underside of this Fiat looks to be in good serviceable condition.
This looks to be a strong driver-level Spider with a lot of time and money spent to keep it looking good and running well. With attractive colors, the original drivetrain, and clean cosmetics, this should prove to be a fun classic.
