Vehicle description
Up for sale is a 1976 Dodge Dart Sport that has been turned into a Demon clone with a built 360 magnum ! The Dart started life as a very clean and low mileage 318 auto with a/c, power steering, and disc brakes. Now this Demon clone sports a 360 5.9L Magnum with plenty of power on tap! Steering has been updated with all new Moog components. Dual exhaust with stock mufflers and exhaust cutouts. Front end has been converted over to a 71 style and rear bumper has been moved in several inches. All glass is in great shape and only one piece of trim is missing in the front windshield edge. Interior is pretty much all stock! Everything works as it should, from gauges to lights, interior and exterior. The 360 magnum is out of a 98 Ram 1500 with 50k miles. Torn down and sent to machine shop where it went through a complete rebuild. Hot tanked the block, and sonic checked for cracks, shot peened crankshaft and rods. Short block received all new stock components, everything from Speed Pro h ypereutectic aluminum pistons, Sealed Power hydraulic roller camshaft, Melling high volume oil pump, Comp Cams HD double roller timing chain, Sealed Power rings, bearings , & plugs. Up top received new Engine Quest performance heads, Edelbrock Performer RPM Air-gap intake, Summit Racing Billet electronic distributor, Summit Racing electric choke vacuum advance carburetor, Mr. Gasket 0.028" head gaskets. Fel-pro & Edelbrock gaskets and seals were used throughout. Summit electric fuel pump, Holley fuel regulator, K&N filter. Motor is built as solid as they come with 10:1 compression and 458" intake 467" exhaust lift cam with 269 duration, it makes an estimated 425hp and over 500lbs of torque! 904 transmission is completely stock except for a TransGo shiftkit. Shifts great, especially under power! Rear end is an 8 1/4 which is stock as well. Brakes have been recently replaced, as well as wheel bearings. Body is in good overall shape considering the age. There are some spots where previous body work has been done, and the left rear bottom quarter has rusted through. Other than that, a few dents here and there but no rust or damage to floor pans or frame! This is a get in and drive Mopar muscle car that though may need some things finished to be a complete street killer, has all of the major ingredients done and done right! Super reliable motor with only about 3000 miles since rebuild. Not too many of these Darts out there that you can actually drive, much less have an updated Magnum monster under the hood! This car is fast and a lot of fun to drive! I"ve had fun with it, but I"ll be moving out of the country for military and just can"t take it with me. This is a No Reserve auction with a super low starting bid!
