Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1976 Chevrolet El Camino is a project vehicle with updates to the exterior. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle needs work and is not regularly driven. Vehicle Details I’ve uploaded some more pictures of underneath and all around as requested. The right rear quarter panel looks like it was repaired at some point and will need some attention nothing too crazy though. It only does not run because I started the maintenance and repairs on it. You finish it.Preowned 1976 El Camino red classic pickup automatic rear wheel drive with factor air which isn’t hooked up. The previous owner coated it black all over even underneath which stopped a lot of the weather affecting the vehicle. There is some rust through behind the seats but it’s small and could use two patches. The floors, frame and underneath look solid.I bought this pickup as a project a few months ago running and I have a few videos of it running. Since then I’ve been doing work to it when I have time but I have other projects also. I removed the gas tank and neutralized any surface rust underneath then sprayed it with rubberized coating. I cleaned the gas tank out, did a few patches on the tank where there were small rust holes and coated it also. I blew air through the fuel lines to clear any debris out so the fuel system is fresh with a new fuel filter and fuel sending unit. I put 7 of 8 new plugs in because I couldn’t into that space with the exhaust pipes there maybe if I had smaller hands. I replaced the electronic distributor and I will include the one that was in there when I got it. I think you will need to just set the timing with the distributor and get fuel pumped to the carburetor for it to start. It will turn over with the battery charged but isn’t fully ready to run. Someone put bondo on the dash, radio isn’t there but gauges are. There is a blue light in the dash not the factory white and the steering wheel looks to have been replaced. The steering wheel is adjustable up and down. I did a fresh oil change as soon as I got it. New accel spark plug wires and breather cap. I did all of the repairs I could in the time I had with a driveway full of cars and my garage is too small for this. I need the room and I’m only listing this so I can make room for a detached garage and to make some cash towards it. I bought this truck with previous registration only but I like my vehicles titled so it will come with a Massachusetts clean title. The mileage was checked as well as the vin before registration. I’ve driven this around my driveway and it felt pretty good seems like it has some power to it. The tires will need to be replaced due to sitting and the previous owner peeled the tires off of the old rims which leads me to believe there is some power under the hood. There are some extra parts to go with it. I do have some chrome exterior trim to go with it for the windshield and bed and rear glass. I’ve seen some chrome trim sell for around $1000 for the set alone. If you have any questions please ask before hitting but it now. The headlights were changed to the kind that have the led rings but the rings don’t work but the headlights and taillights do work. You will be asked to make a $500 non refundable deposit by PayPal with 24 hours. The remaining amount in cash or bank certified check which has to fully clear before you take delivery. I am open to trades even though I don’t have the room because I’m always looking. I can’t help it. 😆 I’m not a Camino guy but maybe you are. You will need a winch to get this on the trailer. I will have air in all of the tires so it free rolls fine. It looks like part of the exhaust system was replaced and is in good condition I didn’t hear any exhaust leaks. I ran the engine and removed the radiator cap to see if the coolant started to flow after the thermostat opened and it did. The Windshield will need some sealant once you sit the trim in there. There are no other 1976 Camino classics for sale on at this time last I checked. Here are the book values for this model from Nada.com with factory air. Feel free to do your own search to determine the value.Original MSRP $4468Low Retail $9135Average Retail $22,785High Retail $32,760.Take a little time and make it how you want it to be for yourself or invest and flip it. If this doesn’t sell by early December I plan to store it for the winter and use it to tow classic vehicles in the spring. Images Download the Motors app
