Vehicle Details I have owned the car for 9 years. It was originally purchased at Stephens in Manchester, Iowa. Then owned by a local Highway Patrolman, who donated it to a local church auction. The man I bought it from had gotten the car at that church auction. As soon as I bought it I started driving it around daily, then a lot of front end parts came due for service because the previous owner left it sitting for quite a few years. So I replaced all the front end parts: brakes, shocks, ball joints, bushings, bearings as well as the rear shocks and brakes. At the same time (2015 130000 mi) rebuilt the engine and Rochester Q-Jet carburetor and painted the engine. A previous owner had rebuilt the engine .030 over, stock cam, at 110,924mi in 1990. I kept it .030 over dish pistons, moly rings and added a Melling torque cam. This cam basically maxes out the flow of the J heads that came on the car and noting more. . it can still idle and drive around town nicely. The thing is really a torque monster and can easily blow the front tires right off if you want to. The paint is original, and shows it in some places. some work had been done to the pass rear quarter panel shown in pictures then the previous owner hit it with his skid loader and caused the crease in the same panel. The vinyl top is in good shape minus one nick on the drivers side rear, it was replaced in 1996. The things I know are wrong with the car: it came with air conditioning, cruise control, but they are not functional/ clock works still, but cannot be set/ hvac blower motor inop. Otherwise it is a really solid car, that could easily be a daily driver or weekend cruiser. There is some surface rust starting on the undercarriage, but is in outstanding shape for living in Iowa its whole life. The car drives down the highway like noting I've ever owned, makes you want to just keep going all the way to California. Its a 3 speed trans so it can go interstate speeds ok, but its winding it up kind of high and gas mileage suffers.
