Vehicle description
Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon . Condition is Used.
Up for bid is my 1974 transporter. Vehicle has been sitting for about 10 years. This bus will need a full restoration. As you can see from the photos many of the lower body panels are rotting and there are a couple of good sized holes in the floor. The engine does run and it has a single Weber carb conversion on it currently. I have had it running with this carb set up, but I never got around to fitting a proper throttle linkage, nor has it been tuned to run as good as it could with this carb. I do have the original duel carbs and linkage in a box of spare parts, but they would need some work to be used again. One other issue with the motor is the oil strainer bolt is broken. I fabricated a temporary fix many years ago and it does hold oil, but it will need to be addressed at some point to be correct. I am listing this vehicle now in hopes of getting it to someone that has the time and means to bring it back to life. Based on what I see on eBay, it seems the 70’s and newer buses are finally starting to gain some real value. I am setting a very low reserve, but I’m really not sure what the value really is given it’s poor condition. I am open to any reasonable offers. I am willing to personally deliver this vehicle if a proper fee can be agreed upon for my time and fuel. (400-900) depending on distance just to give an idea of what I’m talking about. Thanks for looking 🙂
