Beautiful 1974 Chevrolet Corvette StingRay Convertible with many systems restored or upgraded. The car has an automatic transmission, power windows, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning and tilt steering wheel. This is the last year before the catalytic converter was introduced and is grandfathered in for emissions testing in many states. The original owner stated they replaced the original engine with a 2009 350ci create engine making about 300 hp, including headers, true dual exhaust, aluminum radiator, and rebuilt Rochester QuadraJet carburetor. In 2014 an extensive body and interior restoration was completed with new seals, chrome, and badging. Corvette period correct polished aluminum wheels, with disk brakes, new calipers and rotors were installed. The car was finished to a very high standard with a laser straight body and high quality paint. The original color was factory brown which was replaced with a 2013 Porsche Macadamia brown, which looks amazing with a custom dark brown canvas convertible top and medium saddle interior. In 2014 the front and rear suspension was rebuilt with new springs, bushings, and shocks. A new fuel tank and sending unit was also installed. In 2015 the steering box was replaced with a new Borgeson power steering unit. In 2016 the original AC and heating unit was replaced with a Vintage Air unit made specifically for the C3 Corvette. In 2017 a Kenwood stereo system including front and rear speakers was installed. In 2018 a new HEI distributor and chrome alternator was installed. Please consider the following: The 300 hp engine is a huge upgrade over the 195 hp stock engine. The new Vintage Air A/C unit is also a great improvement over the original 45 year old air conditioning unit. The suspension was rebuilt; dry rotted bushings were replaced, new shocks and springs installed. C3 convertible cars command an estimated $5,000 premium over the far more common coupe.
Less expensive cars may need many improvements to be as reliable and enjoyable as this car. If you buy a car with the upgrades already installed you will pay a fraction of the improvement cost. Since 2009 approximately $35,000 in upgrades were added to this beautiful convertible car. Needless to say the car looks handles, sounds and runs GREAT.
