Vehicle description
I bought the two 74 Bricklin"s last fall (photo on trailers, white (white & orange). I personally know the previous owner so I know his story to be true (below). They were his daily drivers until 1988, when he was transferred to NYC for work. In 88 they were put on blocks & garaged since then. When I got them to Buffalo, I stored the orange one & started work on the White one. We had it running the first day it was in the shop. We Blew out all the lines, new battery, changed points, plugs, hoses, belts, cleaned Carb, all fluids, used a clean gas source (tank was gummed up), checked pressure, vacuum etc and started right up. Drive train seems good, I drove it home about a month ago. Along with all of the above I also put in a new alternator, rebuilt original radiator & gas tank. I will be starting on the interior when the weather breaks & then detail the bottom & motor area, last I"ll take it for the exterior work. I can only assume that the orange one will be a similar story (it has 20k less miles). Here is the background info on the car.
1974 Orange, Vin 512
- Not Running
- Previous owner purchased it used in fall 1976 with 18,000 miles (one owner).
- All original except: 1) replaced hydraulic door system with an air system and 2) replaced the carburetor with a Holly 4 barrel (still have the original carburetor)
- AMC 360 cu in motors (220 hp), AMC drive train
· Never in any accidents or fender benders
· There’s no damage to the car. There are no body cracks.
- I stopped driving it in 1988. Been in storage since than. P rior to storing, they were both my daily drivers & in perfect running order.
