Vehicle description
Right hand drive series III. The collection has to be culled. I"ve owned this vehicle for quite a while and have put tens of thousands of dollars into it to get it as close to perfect as I could. Which for a series truck means everything works and you can turn it on and drive it for as long and as far as you want with no worries. This one is my "go to" Rover. Old Faithful if you will. I have moved on to Defenders because they are easier on this old body. Recent work within the last year: new swivel balls with all the fixings including gaitors. Head gasket, valve job, distributor, carburetor, tune up. New 16" rims with Michelin tires. Old rims and tires included in sale.Lots of extra parts as well. Sale includes a soft top, pole kit and tail gate. I used it for only one season. This past winter I cut out the rotted floorboards ,tunnel cover and storage bin under passenger seat and replaced them. Firewall has a few punky spots.Heat is supplied via a bus heater installed in the back in place of one of the jump seats. List of some other improvements are :Stainless exhaust. Leaf springs and check straps. Radiator. Gear reduction starter. Tires chains. Rear main seal and clutch. Two years ago I went under the truck with a needle scaler, a wire brush and an air hose and blasted all the junk out then hit any surface rust with POR 15 and a generous amount of fluid film.Rear cross member is fine as is the rest of the frame. I wanted to keep this Rover for ever but things change. Had frame horns replaced. Only took this truck off road once at winter romp and driving through the woods with my Rover just didn"t sit well with me. It"s gonna hurt but it has to go. If you like series trucks you will appreciate what I have done to keep this truck in such good shape. This was not a restoration project , just an on going passion for the truck and giving it everything it needed as soon as it needed it without concern for the cost. Some things were done just for the heck of it. Roverheads please don"t ask me technical questions because I am not a mechanic.Just a guy that loves this truck. 99% of all of the work done on this truck has been done by professional mechanics. This Rover will do anything you ask of it except go over 60 mph.
