Vehicle description
Full Custom 1973 Chevrolet Caprice. This Awesome American HotRod was abandoned at a bonded vehicle storage facility, the owners of the facility donated it to our educational outreach program, Lights, Camera, Traction! From what the storage facility tells us, the car has been sitting for about 10 years, so certainly figure on going through the car thoroughly. Here"s what we have discovered. The trunk lock opens with a screw driver, so that lock will need to be replaced. We were able to turn the ignition switch with a pick set, but there appears to be a hidden kill switch somewhere; but with axillary fuel supply and power applied directly the to distributor, she fired right up; we have not driven it. The body and bumpers are straight, the paint is in very good to excellent condition, as is the amazing upholstery work. The brightwork includes a custom grill / surround which should polish up nicely. Actual miles are unknown, as the instrument panel has been replaced with a custom electronic panel. The steering column and steering wheel is also top quality billet aluminum. The wheels are absolutely insane 23" and the 295 / 30 / ZR23 tires are in very good condition, with plenty of tread. Simply looking at the basics, someone invested a ton of money in the car, it would take much to tweak in into a show winner . . . She"s a Show Stopper just the way it is. We heard the paint was $9,000. We estimate the upholstery likely ran in the $5,000 range. The rims and tires probably another $6,000. Visible engine upgrades to the small block chevy include an Edelbrock aluminum intake and 4 barrel carbonator, roller tip rocker arms, billet peripherals and a serpentine belt system at least another $3,000. Considering the overall build, we suspect the engine was complete custom build, but we don"t know for sure. The cars an absolute classic, one of a kind, and a tremendous value. A little TLC and this will be a fun reliable car. The car is being sold where is, as is, without warranty implied or expressed. We"re selling the car as we received it, without keys or title. We have checked the VIN and found a service that the Vermont DMV offers for antique cars. For $225.50 Vermont will issue and mail to out of state owners a clear registration and tag. The tag is good for one year, and the registration can be transferred to your own state. We have all the application information, and will be happy to assist you in filling out the application. The car is conveniently located on a main trucking route in South Central FL. We can meet your carrier and assist in loading. The deposit can be made via PayPal, but the balance must be a fee free transaction, such as wire transfer, or overnight certified funds. All proceeds from this sale with directly support the students of Lights, Camera, Traction!
