Vehicle description
This Road Runner is equipped with the optional 440 Cubic-Inch V8 that generates approximately 280 horsepower. The engine was professionally restored along with the car and is in excellent condition. It starts and run well with no noticeable hesitation, smoke, or skipping noted in its performance. The engine compartment is also detailed to factory specifications with all the emblems and decals correctly positioned. This vehicle is also equipped with the Plymouth’s 3-speed automatic transmission, and the driveshaft and rear axle are factory stock. The exhaust system is correctly routed under the chassis and through the rear valance. The sound emanating from its dual exhaust is directly reminiscent of these powerful cars of the muscle car era.
The suspension and underside of this vehicle was detailed during its restoration, and it has been properly maintained showing very little wear. The vehicle is stored on a garage lift when not in use, and this has prevented any moisture or dirt from collecting on its underside. It is also cleaned after each use, and all the underside components appear in excellent condition. The brakes are in good working order, and there is no noticable play in the steering system. This vehicle rides on BF Goodrich P235/705R14 tires, which are mounted on the Plymouth factory rally rims, and are correct for this car.
The exterior paint and graphics of this vehicle are truly exceptional. The 1972 Road Runner made use of several stripes in its graphics package, and these are intact and in excellent condition. Its paint finish is free of any scratches or blemishes, and its factory decals were all replaced during its restoration. The finish itself is uniform across all body panels, and all body seams including door alignment, trunk, and body seams are straight and uniform. The vehicle does not appear to have suffered any damage in its point in life, and carries no afer-market body panels. All glass is clean and clear with no cracks or aging noted.
The interior of this vehicle is in good original condition with no noticeable rips or fading of interior fabric noted. The dashboard and all gauges are in good working order, and all interior lighting is in working condition. The door panels, carpet, and headliner are all in acceptable condition, and appear to be regularly maintained. The control pedals are the original units, which show the usual wear associated with a vehicle of this age. This Road Runner also carries a unique two-toned interior scheme of black and white.
The overall condition of this 1972 Road Runner is very good, and it is a rare car that represents its model very well. It is clearly apparent that this car is exceptionally well cared for as demonstrated by its pristine state of preservation.
I do have other pictures along with video walk arounds if needed. This is a true show car. Thanks for looking.
