1972 De Tomaso Pantera.
The Pantera was penned by the well known Ghia designer Tom Tjaarda (who recently passed away) he also designed the Fiat 124 Spyder. The Pantera was a real "hybrid" of American muscle V8 couple together with a sexy Italian body that would even make Sophia Loren jealous. The mid engined layout ensured great handling and the Ford 351 cubic inch Cleveland mated to a ZF 5 speed transaxle delivered quick acceleration through a precise gated shifter.
This car is finished in a stunning shade of dark red with a contrasting black interior, the pictures do not do justice to the beauty of the colour. Only two California owners since new, it was purchased in the early 1990"s by the present keeper who sadly passed away. The car was taken down to the bare metal for a very high quality repaint in 1991 by Panteras by Wilkinson a marque specialist, there is no body filler or rust in this car and the restoration is documented with photos, European GT5 bumpers were fitted and 5 row radiator with upgraded cooling fans were also installed. The car was babied and always stored indoors under a cover.
She runs like a scared cat and is a joy to drive with the torquey V8 and the slick ZF gearbox. A recent tune up and extensive documented history with show awards that go with the car. The air conditioning works and blows cold, the wipers do not, it was never driven in the rain! Beautifully presented in stock original condition and its the desirable non rubber bumper car and an original Californian delivery car. I am selling this car on behalf of the estate.
