Vehicle description
1972 Datsun 240z up for auction. Currently two-tone black and sunset burnt orange (originally 918 orange). All original glass, including the windshield. The interior has been refreshed with new carpet throughout and newly upholstered seats. The original headliner is in excellent condition. The dash has a new half dash cap and there is a new stereo in the car.
The paint on the car has some blemishes and would be considered driver quality. There is a small amount of rust present in the front driver side wheel well and there was rust repaired in the floor boards and the rear passenger dogleg. The car comes with two engines. The original L24 comes with the car but is not in the car. It has low compression in two cylinders. The engine in the car is a strong running L24 but it does burn a small amount of oil and has a small leak from the rear main seal. The car starts, stop, and drives as it should and has a new radiator, heater core, oil pump fuel pump, and filters/fluids. It is currently on 14" slotted mags with good Good Year Tires.
Items that are not original to the car are the hood and door cards. They have been sourced from a later model 280z for the hood and a 260z for the door cards. Because the door cards have different placement for the door lock tabs, the door locks do not currently work.
